Basic Hand-Building Pottery Class |
Basic Hand-Building Pottery Class
We are now offering ceramic classes for children and adults ! Using the basic skills of hand-building with coils, pinching, and slab building, one will learn to create pots and 3-dimensional sculptures. One will explore textures and colours; as well as glaze application and decoration. All projects will be kiln fired in an electric kiln.
Some of the projects will include pinch pot candle-holders, slab built textural vases, coiled pots, and lots more! You are welcome to bring your own ideas and inspiration, or let me suggest a project for you.

Ride the River Rail to Celebrate the Arts and Arkansas’ Diverse Heritage at the
Arts Scene. Starting Saturday at 10 a.m., enjoy live music, artist demonstrations,
crafts for the kids, poetry, an African American Hair Exhibition and a book
signing by Richard Emmel, author of “Louisa.” Loosely based on the life of
colonial African-American poetess, Phillis Wheatley, Mr. Emmel’s story of
“Louisa” transports you back to colonial American times to witness the terrifying
capture and brutal enslavement of Farih Morowa, a Fulani African princess,
who is renamed Louisa by her owners. She later amazes the world with her
intellect and poetic writing skills. How she was nurtured, educated, and rose to
international celebrity as an authoress, before ultimately gaining her freedom
from slavery, is a truly inspiring journey for readers of all ages.
Also get a 10% discount on any Arts Scene purchase during the Central Arkansas
Transit Authority/Black History Month celebration.
The River Rail stops directly across Broadway from 201 Maple, in North Little
Rock at the Arts Scene. Look for the big green signs. For more information, visit
